Vesninka and Raduzhniy are two small districts of affluent housing that sit along the banks of the Svislach and form a quiet counterpoint to the busy districts that lie South of Pobediteley Avenue.
Vesninka is a small district located on a shore of the Drazdy Lake. Up until quite recently it was a typical Belarusian village in a forgotten corner away from the center of Minsk. But as the whole North Western part of the city started to be developed with new housing, this village also morphed into an affluent district with modern cottages replacing the wooden houses of old. This area is not large and it has a cosy feel of being tucked away from the avenue, cornered by a bending shore line of the Drazdy Lake. It only consists of a couple of streets, and next to it, closer to the avenue are modern business centers along with a secondary school gymnasium and a kindergarten.
The Raduzhniy micro-district is a lot more structured and systematic than Vesninka. It is evident that it was built for purpose to locate luxurious modern cottages, with streets arranged in a neat pattern to give the area a classic suburban affluent community look and feel. The streets here have a couple of cul-de-sacs, a neat arrangement that is very rarely met in Minsk or Belarus at large. The houses in Raduzhniy look very similar to one another, giving a nice unified feeling to the whole area. Some houses stand out from the crowd but most blend in with the others nicely. This area is also walled off from the avenue by the Arena City building, a couple of low-rise residential complexes and a business center.
