Minsk World was an ambitious development project for a large site in central Minsk, and the resulting residential district became quite popular among citizens of Minsk who settled it quickly and turned it into one of the most popular new locations in the city.
Minsk World is a large apartment complex in the south central part of Minsk. It is located to the south of Minsk Central Railway station. The new houses arose on the location of a former airdrome, and the development of the whole large territory was progressing from north to south.
The metro station in Minsk World, called Airdrome station, opened only at the very end of 2024. The district is occupied by high-rise residential houses, typically of 20 to 25 stories. The district has a rather regular structure and the street layout is very straightforward. The streets of the district stretch from east to west and from north to south, breaking the area into nice rectangular and square shaped units.
The whole district is actually flanked by two railway lines, one running from the Central Railway Station to the south-west, and the other running to the south-east. The whole district actually stretches from rail-track to rail-track, the distance of 2.5 kilometers.
The main streets of the district running from East to West are Airdrome Street, Tesla Street, Luchenok Street and Savitsky Street. The streets running from North to South are Levin Street, Belgrade Street, Mira Avenue, Bratskaya Street and Alfiorov Street. Minsk-Southern railway station is located to the east of the district, while the Airdrome metro station is located on Mira Avenue, very close to the center of the whole district.
The brand new Minsk district has several secondary schools. School 227 is located on the western edge of the district. School 226 is located in one of the north central district blocks while the newer school 228 is located in one of the southern blocks.
Avia Mall is a large shopping mall located in one of the central blocks of Minsk World. This shopping center is one of the largest in the whole city. Its total area is 138,200 square meters. It can house more than 500 shops and provides more than 3,000 parking spaces to its visitors.
Minsk International Financial Center is located to the south of Avia Mall. The center consists of 5 high-rise buildings, 12 to 42 stories tall. The 42-storey high-rise is the tallest building in Belarus, with the height of 168 meters. Minsk International Financial Center is projected to reach the final stages of completion in 2027. The buildings of the financial center are expected to include underground parking facilities with the area of almost 20,000 square meters, while the five buildings of the complex are expected to have the total area of 97,000 square meters. The construction of the whole business complex is expected to take only 5 years, having started in 2022 and expected to be wrapped up by 2027.
