Opened in June 2025, the new national football stadium gives Belarus a modern, purpose-built arena worthy of international competition.
The Minsk National Football Stadium is the newest major sporting venue in the Belarusian capital, inaugurated on 7 June 2025 after five years of construction that began in the summer of 2020. Built to serve as the principal home ground of the Belarus national football team, it represents the most significant investment in football infrastructure the country has made in the post-independence era.
The stadium holds 33,000 spectators, making it one of the largest purpose-built football arenas in the region. Unlike the Dynamo National Olympic Stadium, which serves multiple sports and events, the National Football Stadium is designed exclusively around the demands of modern football — from the rake of its stands to the acoustics of its enclosed bowl, every element is calibrated for the game.
The playing surface is natural grass measuring the standard 105 by 68 metres, equipped with both undersoil heating and an irrigation system. The heating infrastructure ensures that the pitch remains playable through the harsh Belarusian winters, extending the usable season and protecting the surface quality during international fixtures scheduled outside the summer months.
The stadium is served by 307 parking spaces, a provision that includes dedicated underground parking and separate bus parking for team coaches and official vehicles. The site’s proximity to central Minsk means that supporters arriving by metro or on foot have straightforward access, while the parking infrastructure accommodates those travelling by car from across the city and the wider country.
With the national team now based at a venue purpose-built for the highest level of the game, Minsk has a football stadium that can credibly host qualifying matches, friendly internationals, and UEFA club fixtures. The opening of the National Football Stadium marks a new chapter in Belarusian football — one played on a surface and in a setting that reflects the ambitions of the game in the country.
